Tom and Georgia Chalamidas are Albuquerque's
own. Proprietors of all-time favorite Mori's Lounge and Jerry's
Lounge they are now the proud owners of The Copper Lounge.
The Chalamidas' enjoy a long-time following of customers who know
and appreciate good food. Using only the best ingredients and long-time
family recipes, their menu of bar specialties include an impressive
choice of beers from around the world, a great assortment of wine,
martinis and mixed drinks to complement everything from light snacks
to full meals. This place is sought out and savored by those who
know a good thing when they taste it. Don't miss the homemade desserts
- the best cakes and goodies you will find anywhere in Albuquerque.
The Chalamidas' have been in the bar business since 1970. Their
first endeavor was with Jerry's Lounge on Menaul, NE. Next came
Mori's Lounge on Lomas and 4th which became an institution with
the downtown crowd. Many deals were closed and stories told at Mori's.
Closing Mori's down represented an end of an era and was certainly
mourned as a place for meeting friends, great food and good drinks
at a fair price.
By popular demand and not wanting to say good bye to their many
friends, they opened The Copper Lounge in May, 2001. Taking their
best with them, they continued their tradition of offering friendly
service, the best bartenders, and the uncommonly good menu of local
favorites, Greek cuisine, out of this world pizza and a wide variety
of bar offerings. As expected, the loyalty of customers who know
a great watering hole with the best eats continues!
Come in and meet the Chalamidas family including Manager Louis Chalamidas,
formally co-owner of Louie's Pub and Grill, who was raised in the
business and knows what it takes to keep the tradition going!
